Fun has been had, friends have been made and now the convention is almost over but wait, there is more!
Join us for one final chapter in the convention story on Monday, 7 August 2017 by spending a day exploring the delectable delights and tantalising tastes of the Adelaide Hills on the
Wine and Gourmet Tours
Join the tour of your choice and take a seat in the magic minibus as we wind our way through stunning scenery, sampling all that the region has to offer. Whether you enjoy the crispest of white wine, the biggest of reds, artisan crafted cheeses or fine chocolates, there is bound to be something that tickles your fancy.
After all, what's The Discworld Grand Tour without an actual tour?
Tickets for the Wine and Gourmet Tours are strictly limited.
Tickets are available only to convention attendees, and are on sale now!
Your tour guide answers your questions...
- Where does the magic minibus leave from, and where does it drop me off?
After we all meet at 9am, the magic minibus will depart at 9.30am in the morning of Monday 7 August 2017, from the Lakes Resort Hotel and will bring you back there at the end of the day (around 6pm)
- Can I go on both the wine tour and the gourmet tour?
While we appreciate your enthusiasm, both tours run on the same day at the same time, so you will have to choose either the gourment or wine tour, unless you happen to be a History Monk who can be in two places at once.
- I don't like cheese or coffee or chocolate, can I still go on the gourmet tour?
The gourmet tour focuses on foods produced in South Australia with an emphasis on the Adelaide Hills region. There will be a variety of different foods available for your tasting pleasure, not just cheese and coffee and chocolate. However, we can not guarantee that foods available will meet all dietary requirements, so take that into consideration when deciding which tour ticket to buy. If you think such foods are an abomination unto Nuggan, we can offer only a paper clip in sympathy.
- Can I drink wine on the gourmet tour? Can I eat cheese and chocolate on the wine tour?
Go for your life! However, keep in mind that the stops on the way will focus primarily on wine for the wine tour and food for the gourmet tour, and there's no guarantee that you'll be able to purchase the same produce that people on the other tour will be able to. Please note that the consumption of alcohol is not permitted on the tour buses.
- The tours are sold out, but I really want to go!
