No, we don’t have some of his old boxers for auction (yet).

Here’s the concept: Readings of some of Terry’s short stories, performed by one actor with a) no sets b) minimal or no costumes, c) minimal or no props and d) lots of silly voices.

Imagine you’re reading for an audio book – like Tony Robinson, Nigel Planer or Stephen Briggs – but in front of a live audience (so making it visually interesting is also useful!)

Performing in Terry’s Shorts may require a bit of theatre experience, the ability to do silly voices, and some self-rehearsal. You probably don’t have to memorise the story, but practicing what you will be doing is definitely advisable to put on a good show!

I am going to be coordinating this and also performing one or two stories. If you find this concept intriguing and you’d like to know more, or maybe even volunteer, please contact me: molokov@gmail.com

I have absolutely no talent (possibly even negative talent), so won’t be performing, but would love to see someone do “Hollywood Chickens”.

Why do it tomorrow when it can be put off indenfinetly?

The only acting experience I’ve ever had was as the Magic Pudding in a school play back in the 50s in Victoria.

hehehe. I did the magic pudding as well, as a ballet though.
Our magic pudding was a decorated cushion.

I will agree there was definitely a cushion involved

The only performing I do is reading to the children (mine, not just random children in the street) but I may be willing to make a fool of myself in front of others for the right story. Probably not the Chickens, one of the simpler ones perhaps. ie: not too many voices

Well see if you can pick one of the shorter stories – or perhaps even a poem? (I think there’s one) that you may wish to perform.

Otherwise, I’m sure the committee would be happy for you to read “Where’s My Cow?” at our nightly 6.00 reading :) (assuming we’re doing that again)

Thanks to Chris and Nick who have volunteered so far to help me out. We’ve probably got time in the session for one more volunteer to read a short short story – preferably a woman, so it’s not all just blokes doing this :)

Email me molokov at gmail dot com if you’re interested.
