Is there going to be some sort of get-together on the Thursday night (for people who arrive early) & on the Sunday night (for people staying late)?
Pre- & post-con get-togethers?

There’s been discussions in a thread somewhere about a post-con meeting… I think the Sydney one? No plans as yet for a Thursday evening dinner or some such – but here’s a good place to organise one :)

The two of us coming in from the US will be checking in around noon on Thursday. I’d extended an invite if anyone wanted to get together for Dinner and drinks Thursday, but nothing has been organized. Someone suggested a bar called Riverland in Federation Square as a good low-key place to relax… so we may go there. K@T suggested it in the General Con/Virgin forum.
We’ll go along with the group if there are any other plans… as we haven’t been to Melbourne before.
Of course he was all in favour of Armageddon in general terms….

Might be an idea, for those staying at the Carlton, to have a sign-in sheet at the check-in counter, so we know which room to contact.
My wife (who will have other interests in Melbourne) and I should be arriving mid afternoon on Thursday.
I’d certainly be up for a get-together on Thursday evening, but being a Senior Citizen I wouldn’t be staying past midnight!

I’m staying at the Carlton, and my flight gets in at 7pm on Wednesday.

We may be the earliest to check in… at least from what I’ve seen on the posts. If we can’t work out a signup sheet, I’ll ask the Front Desk to pass on our room number to any con members who ask.

Hey Everyone,
If you do decide to do something on Thursday night can you leave a message about where you are going at the front desk of the Carlton. I’m not quite sure what time I’ll be rocking up but it will be sometime on Thursday afternoon/night. Just depends on how early I leave Thursday morning. I hope you dont mind if I gate crash your party.

My plane arrives at about 11:00am on 08/02/07. I already volunteered to help set up but anything else afterwards I’ll be up for. I’ll be the one with the serious chocolate addiction.
