This is a crucial role. Money is where a lot of groups come apart. The person brave enough to take on this role needs to be completely transparent in their dealings and to be responsible in their dealings. They need to be able to run the DWCon III both online and in person and to hold regular meetings with all groups and ensure sound financial compliance.
Main tasks:
• To maintain the finances of the event
• Set up and run physical and on-line bank accounts
• Making sure that the Convention complies with all GST, Tax and other legal financial arrangements
• Investigating charitable status and acting upon it
• Co-ordinating finances from all the various groups.
• Any other financial tasks considered suitable
• Required to report regularly to the whole committee and M.A.C.
• Ensuring that best practice is maintained
Person Spec
• Able to calculate without using fingers
• Computer literate
• Some experience of a software package (MYOB, Quicken or similar) essential even if we set up our own system
• Have regular access to the internet
• Be prepared to speak in a way understandable to non finance people
• Have a sense of humour
