Hello Folks – Tania Here. I am the Co-ordinator for the Events Programme for the 2011 Convention. I have been attending Discworld Conventions in the UK since 1998 and have seen, run and partaken of a lot of different events. But this is YOUR convention and I want to make sure that we can offer Conventioneers what they want. Of course we cannot please all the people all the time, but we will do our best!
I dont want to disclose too much at this time – yes, all you ‘Lets Open the Hogswatch Presents Early Then Seal ’em Up Again’ brigade!!! We want to keep some mystery a little while longer.
But I would love to hear your suggestions. I have been watching the thread started by Granny Weatherwax on the General Forum. Please do feel free to post here.
Be warned, I will be asking for Volunteers. So if you have a skill you can offer, please SHOUT!
Do you want a teaster???? The Dark Morris! Hope that whets your tastebuds!!
Lots of love Tania

Count me in as a volunteer for the Radio Play, and I’m happy to step in and run/help run a game of Significant Quest or Werewolf.
And I’m definitely looking forward to Scumble (cider) tasting. I’m not a beer drinker, and apple cider is my alcoholic drink of choice, and it’s so tough to find really good ones nowadays (that are actually, you know, available in a lot of places)

I am sooo excited now and there’s over a year until the convention!
I have lots and lots of fabric scraps and bits and pieces, so I am more than willing to donate some for the costume fixing part.
I am also a knitter and am very willing to knit one or two disc-themed ityms for the auction.
Can I volunteer for the radio play?
Also super psyched for the Scumble testing and Significant quest :D
We’re on a mission from Glod.

Thorogoods in Burra make great apple drinks Molokov, ciders, wines (scrumpy) and liqueurs. If you have a car it’s a worthwhile trip, just not sure exactly how long from Adelaide it is. I think it’s about 2 hours.
I have to admit I look forward to the tasting sessions myself, despite being pretty much a teetotaler.
I’ll be in touch to volunteer for a few more things. :D
Noah’s Ark is a problem. We’ll have to call it early quantum-state phenomenon.
I think it’s sweet; Geelong having it’s own Sci-Fi Club

Yeah, Burra’s about 2 hours away. If I ever find myself up that way again, I do intend to get some nice apple-based products :) I hear rumours of a Cider tasting festival in May, hopefully in Lenswood in the Adelaide hills.

Quite happy to be a volunteer in what ever way I can and if necessary can be there day or two earlier if it will help.

I now have tonnes of paper – so in the next Vols letter – which will be due out soon – I will tell everyone that we have enough. Havings said that – Suze, can you keep some A3 aside? That might be VERY useful. Thanks to everyone.
