   Are you planning to come in costume?
   Why not prance around in the Maskerade for a minute or two, to show off your talents and admire others?
   Mimes – this is the one safe zone in which to practice your craft. All mimes are exempt from punishment by Lord Vetinari.

   Applications are available here: http://ausdwcon.org/documents/maskerade.pdf or in hard copy at OPS on Friday. There are 2 divisions, Under 16 and Over 16, and prizes available for each division, as well as the coveted ’Costumer’s Guild Trophy’.

   Be stylish, darlings!

   as a duly un-elected representative of the assassins guild, i would remind all guild members that we will suspend the standing “shoot on site” orders for mimes during the maskerade pageant. The exemption will be extended to morris dancers and folk singers, although folk-singers will still be required to give the mandatory opening wail of “Aayeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!” (minimum duration 5 seconds) to let all in the vicinity that someone is about to commit folk music. (We’re watching you,Pearson.) Similarly, all members are reminded that contracts during the Nullus Anxietas period carry the usual seventeen and a half percent leave loading.

   Standard, number-one dress blacks apply for the event. See you there.

   We have had virtually no pre-registrations for the Maskarade.
   Even if you don’t register now and leave it until you get here, please can you let me know if you INTEND to take part. I don’t want to be the only one up there on that stage. Be nice and reassure me xxxx

   I’ll most likely be convincing my fellow 2 grey cloaks on the day to get up on stage for a short performance fingers crossed. Costumes are pretty simple, but will add to the number for this event :).

   I am delighted to see such interest in the Maskerade. It will be a lot of fun.

   If you are planning a small performance please let us know in advance what music or sound effects you will use.

   We will be handing out – or if necessary forcing on you – Maskerade entry forms on Friday. The forms are required so our MC knows how to introduce you on stage, and you know not to slime Terry.

    To tell or not to tell? LOL

    Hubby (who is not discworld savvy )watched me swear and curse over the weekend whilst creating our costumes. His comment though had me coughing up my tea.

    “Don’t worry dear, I didn’t marry you for your seamstressing skills”.

    Now, do I tell him or do I chance it that he might introduce me as ‘his little seamstress’?
