Another activity planned for the convention is a series of great debates!
A wide range of Discworld topics are available, all for suggestions here!
    For starters perhaps;
Ankh vs Morpork, which is the better side of town? - Ankh may have the UU, the Opera House and the majority of the Guild Houses, but Morpork has the Whore Pits!

What Geelong really needs, right now, is a SFFiG

Without sounding pedantic (even tho I am being) isn't UU in the Morpork side of town if I remember my streets of Ankh Morpork correctly?

    I think you're right there.
Well that does it, Morpork wins anyway!

    Any other suggestions?

wizards vs witches: The pros and cons of both.
I'd be a bit torn as to which side to argue...

    That's a good one.

    How about Patricians or Kings?
    And who should rule Ankh-Morpork?
Vetinari? Carrot? Vimes? Rust? Nobby? Gaspode?

    Democracy vs benign dictator
(but first, a definition of democracy)

10 reasons why a troll is better than a dwarf
(or a gollum than a zombie, or ....whatever)

Ankh-Morpork….had ended up with that form of democracy known as One Man, One Vote. The Patrician was the Man; he had the Vote.

    UUmmmm.
People vs Puppies. What kind of children will Carrot and Anua have?
You might have to have a three party debate... one party arguing "Yenorch"
Did I remember that name correctly?

I think I understand the topic... like a tv shown on a tv shown on a tv?

From where I'm sitting you'd have to have six sides at least - one for each of the worlds mentioned above and then one for all those who belive that they can all exist and one for everyone who believes that none of them exist... I personally would try to argue that the first writer was really justa story anyway, therefore everything else following is really just a part of the plot... :)

It sounds less like a debate than a rabble to me, but who knows? It could be fun...
