I seem to remember people wanting body paint before the last convention. I just realised that a website I frequent sells it. I’ve never used this product and can’t say wether it’s good or not but I’ll put up the website for those interested: http://www.theartshop.com.au/category376_1.htm

    Thanks Littleowl.
I found my feegle coloured bodypaint at Spotlight (of all places)
I have SOOOOOO much left now as it really didn’t end up taking too much paint to cover my ample legs, arms, face and neck.
The water based stuff sweats off….. as you can see from the photoes on FLICKR

You could try the Sonky method of dipping yourself in blue rubber. Might be a little lethal though, or at least extremely painful!

You can get latex body paint, but I gotta say, I’m suspect on it. Didn’t get a great reception when they tested it on Mythbusters…

just don’t use too much, that’s all. It helps if you know they were testing the Goldfinger myth.

There was a latex paint feegle at the con. She was having trouable with her paint cracking and flaking off, by the looks. It was also a VERY dark blue.
I think the colour of mine was nicer but I did end up with quite a few sweaty-offy patches. You just cant win, can you?
Maybe if the next con is in Winter I wont have that problem.

But if it is in winter a lot of the other costumes might be a bit skimpy. i guess you can’t really win either way though.

But if you’re only wearing a kilt, and it’s winter, chances are you’ll be able to forgo the paint and let the weather do it for you.

It depends really I actually found the last convention venue quite hot, which did not make for costume fun. When dealing with places like that they want you to spend money on drinks and the like while you are there so even in winter it is likely to be warm.

Actually, I found that too. I spent a ridiculous amount of money on drinks there.

I think next time I’ll get a room and stock up the tub with bottles and cans. Although the one time I smuggled a drink in there was rather fun, felt like a spy or something.

    I don’t get out enough!

I was fine… but then again, it wasn’t the first time I’d worn that Igor costume. It was made purely for a ‘horror’-themed Easter camp/hike so I wanted something that looked the part but was also cool to wear and provided good sun protection…

Of course, it was the Discworld Igor (one of em) I played through and through on that camp… even if hardly anyone knew where he was lifted from, at least it was recognisable :)

You can’t kill me because I’ve got magic aarrghh!
