Hi folks,
Just thought we would like to let you know that since the convention we have been running a very small Disworld Appreciation group. Because there were only 4 of us initally (plus 2 kids), we have kept it a bit quiet, but recently we have had 3 more join and there are 2 more in the pipeline and a lot of interest from yet another 2 – so we thought we should spread the news.
We are based in Penrith, NSW – which is in the Outer West.
We meet kind of every 4-5 weeks at our house.
Last meeting we :
1. discussed some of the links between Neil Gaimen and Terry, by looking at Neverwhere and its possible influence on The Truth (Mr Pin and Mr Tulip v Mr Croup and Mr Vandermar).
2. made and ate some Figgins and Spotted Dick from Nanny Oggs cookbook.
3. watched the first bit of the Cosgrove Hall Weird Sisters
4. Discussed out favourite Discworld Book
5. Chatted until late about loads of other related topics and generally had a laugh.
6. Agreed to read Soul Music as our next discussion Book.
We are always looking for new fun and mad ideas of things to do. Considering a chaos costuming thing and more cooking. Do you have any ideas?
Our membership age is 10 – 50 at the moment and the group is free and for fun.
Meetings start at 7.30pm and go on until about 10.30pm or until we are tired or have to drive home.
The next meeting is on Friday 18th Sept at 7.30pm and we will be sampling Bananana Soup!!!!!
If you would like to come, call Steve or Tania on 02 4735 5567 and we will give you instructions on how to get here. If Penrith is too far, we could look at the possibilites of setting upsome kind of Skype link so that people can join us ‘live’ over the Internet.
