Sorry, I had to create a new account (couldnt remember my pw) I used to be just LadyLydia

Most of you have probably heard already about the sad news on Robbie.

He died peacefully on Monday in a Sydney hospital :(

I had already booked a flight last week

and wanted to visit him, unfortunately a week too late -

now Im coming for the funeral :((

This will take place on Monday April 19 in Manly´s catholic church at 10.30,

just thought I should mention it here in case anyone is from the area.

I will stay in Sydney until May 1st and probably be rather lonely and lost,

maybe there is a meeting going on somewhere that I could attend?

    Hi lady lydia,

I hadn’t heard about Robbie, so thank you for letting all the forum members know about the sad news of his death.

Please contact me ‘off forum’ about your visit to Sydney as we do have a Downunder Drummers group that meets every first Monday of the month. You can reach me at the publicity@ausdwcon.org email address

That is definitely a sad thing. I met Robbie at NA1 in Melbourne, even though he missed the Saturday, he flew down especially for the Sunday to meet everyone. He was always cheerful and chatting enthusiastically about his music and his love of Discworld.

You can’t kill me because I’ve got magic aarrghh!

Oh my goodness! That is most unfortunate news.. Like Molokov I met Robbie at NA1 and remember his excitement at meeting everyone there and how friendly he was.

My condolences to both you and his family.

I am so sorry to hear this! I met Robbie at the first con, and we often chatted online til i moved to Ballarat where I had no Internet connection. My thoughts are with his family and friends. We’ll all miss him.

Oh no… I’ve only just read this thread.
RIP Robbie. I’m SO very sorry I never managed to get you a copy of the photo I promised you.
Love goes out to your friends and family.
I hope that you are in a better place.
