For all the other fanatics here who can't wait for the new books, you can view the covers for both Thud! and Science of Discworld III: Darwin's Watch.
Just go to http://www.paulkidby.com/progress/index.html
SODIII is due in May and Thud! is due in October.

I've just seen on Amazon.com that the next Discworld diary has been announced;
The Ankh-Morpork Post Office Handbook: Discworld Diary 2007
That's about all there seems to be about it so far.

Wow. Then we can all carry it around in our Ankh-Morpork Post bags. Yay!

Noah’s Ark is a problem. We’ll have to call it early quantum-state phenomenon.
I think it’s sweet; Geelong having it’s own Sci-Fi Club

Is there a possibility they would be available at the Con? It would seem to be perfect timing.

I'm pretty sure they will be *released* by then (you'd hope so - I just can't remember when the last ones came out).
I would like to have them for sale at the con. Nothing has been confirmed in regards to book vendors as yet, but keep your fingers crossed!

Generally I don't have anything worthwhile to put in a diary until February anyway, so being able to buy it at the con would enable me to fulfil my merchandise quota AND be a practical thing that would justify me buying it.
Does the Almanack count as a diary?

I count the Almanack in the diary series, though it is a new format to the others.
After the missed year I guess they wanted to try something different. No idea what the Post Office one will be like, I hope it is like the original Guild style diaries.

According to the Wikipedia entry for Thud!, 'Cecil Wormsborough Saint John Nobbs has acquired a girlfriend--an exotic dancer who was impressed when Nobby put an IOU in her garter'
No sources given so it may be dubious, sounds real though, Nobby has slowly been getting closer to obtaining his own sexual magnet, and may even finally find out about the infamous female pronoun!

I've just discovered this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385609442/ref=br_lf_b_10/203-8609825-4492706
UNSEEN UNIVERSITY CUT OUT BOOK (ie a pop-up book!)
With Bernard Pearson doing the paper engineering I'm sure this will be an incredible sight.

All I will say is: the rumour of Nobby's girlfriend is true.
