A question I was hoping any of the lucky people who made it to the convention could help answer: is it such that the convention increases the availability of merchandise or does it make all the good stuff become even harder to find?
Thanks.

I believe it makes items more readily available.

I don’t really know… basically the only discworld merc at the con, outside of the auction, was books and fan merc, (also Buffy and stargate but thats not disc) the auction had some really rally great stuff but it was too expensive for the plebs so all in all i think i would rather buy disc stuff over the net. Just one opinion.
whoever said nothing is impossible, never tried slamming a revolving door….
Abee raises some good points – there wasn’t much stuff for sale beyond the core books, if you ignore the auction. We’d like to remedy that next time around, but it’s not easy.
As for the UK Cons, though, items are definitely more readily available.
I still say the big stuffed Discworld was the best. Gotta save some pennies so I can get one…
Why do it tomorrow when it can be put off indenfinetly?
I think the plushie a’tuin might have been a one off!
Re. general collecting:
If things become more readily available, but want bragging rights, look for limited edition and first edition runs.
