    I got the new Discworld Calendar for Christmas, which is great, but I wanted to run a couple of things past some sensible people first;
The picture of Errol… he’s breathing fire through his mouth that ain’t right now is it?
‘Summer of Snakes’ – eh? Where is that from?

The rest are great, particularly the Colour of Magic one. I didn’t think I’d see a Rincewind or Twoflower to rival Kidby’s but that one is good.

I agree re Errol, because nothing like Errol should look. I was wondering about the Summer of Snakes also because the only time snakes are mentioned are in the Snake Pit really.

Granny too should be showing teeth as she has a full set having been unable to lose any through
    eating too much sugar etc.

Well spotted, I missed the one with Granny.
Still no idea on the snakes – for anyone that doesn’t have it; it’s a picture of a desert valley with snakes in the foreground. Yes it’s bugging me.

Some people on the cunning artificer have a theory on the snake valley.

ah, obscure Wintersmith reference… makes sense. Sort of.
Good enough for me at least. Curiosity satisfied, thanks!

Nnrg! So there is a 2008 calendar! I looked everywhere, I was even in Sydney over New Years, trawling the bookshops and I couldn’t find one anywhere! I eventually concluded that there must not be one this year for some peculiar reason. Aargh! Now I’m pissed. >:(

Yes, must admit I got mine through Amazon UK. Haven’t seen one here in Australia at all.

Dymocks were selling them just before Christmas if that is any help.

I saw them in Minotaur before Christmas… figured I’d buy one later. Next visit, none left.

But I’ve since decided I don’t need it – I don’t write on them, and I won’t be around to use it for a quarter of the year anyway.

… I hope you won’t all lynch me for that. ;)

I grabbed mine from Dymocks just before Christmas too. Seems that they’re the only store that stock them any more (Borders & A&R didn’t have the calendars, although A&R sometimes do).

I don’t write on mine either Pat – I’ve got several years worth of calendars unwritten on. They do hang on my wall telling me what month it is, though :) So each picture gets a month up as a poster….

The older ones would make good poster work if you (shock, horror) cut them up. Which I haven’t done, cos I can’t be bothered :)

I didn’t see the calendar anywhere but my mum finds them (I don’t know how, she seems to have the magical shopping power that finds anything she wants at the time she wants it, or she just shops too much). She occasionally buys one for me for Christmas and I just keep it for the pictures. I don’t know if I could cut it up for posters though… its a bit sacrilegious.

Can’t even hang mine up without punching holes in it as there were none in it when I got it. Have to keep it pristine.

I always order my copy through Pulp Fiction in Brisbane – never any trouble getting a copy. This is always helpful as copies NEVER make it this far north (Mackay – another 1000km north of Brisbane)

Why do it tomorrow when it can be put off indenfinetly?

I run a ribbon along july page, then move it to september once it threatens to fall off the wall.
If that made any sort of sense, congratulations!
