Visiting Lecturers
Guests of Honour
The Unseen University Convivium is pleased to welcome the following visiting lecturers, who will entertain us with their talents througout the convention. Although there are no private discussions (“klatches”) arranged on the programme, if you wish to have a conversation with one of our lovely guests, please feel free to collar them in the corridor, escort them to the nearest public house and purchase them a beverage.
Martin Pearson
Lecturer in Applied Zoology and Fretwork Teacher (Lancre)

Martin Pearson has spent many years studying the fertility rites of the inhabitants of the Ramptop mountains, (commonly referred to as “folk songs”) and then spreading his seed (of knowledge) far and wide, with guitar in hand.
His further studies of the bestial denizens of these regions has led to his seminal1 work, “The Hedgehog Can Never Be Buggered At All”, which he is more than happy to share with everyone, even if they politely request him not to.

Daniel Knight
Emeritus Professor of Silicate Biology and Condensed Metaphysics (Untied Alchemists)

Several years ago, Daniel Knight had a dream. A dream of clowns with knives and spiders with glowing red eyes.
Another night, when he hadn’t eaten cheese before bed, he had a different dream – a dream to tell the story of the Disc’s greatest hero, Cohen the Barbarian, with trolls, talking horses, armies, and lots and lots of blood. So he started Snowgum Films to make this dream a reality.
Over an epoch, there has been hope, failure, distraction, a lot of begging for money, and an hour and half reading 1200 people’s names aloud and saying thank you. The triumph of all this is that “Troll Bridge” is currently in production!
In addition to his Discworld pursuits, Daniel has written and directed many of Snowgum Films’s fabulous short clickies, including “Run, Rincewind, Run”, “Goldilocked”, “Undead Ted” and the D&D themed “Blood on the Game Dice”. You should watch them all.
Pamela Munt
Superbus Professor of Vindictive Astronomy and Thespian Studies (Thespia)

Unseen Theatre Company has turned Adelaide into the home of Discworld Theatre. It has comandeered The Mended Drum, refusing to leave, and insisting on another drink no matter how many times you glance meaningfully at the clock.
Pamela Munt founded the amateur theatre troupe in 2000,and since then has directed, produced, adapted, or starred in over 23 Pratchett plays, usually doing several of those things at once.
She also runs the fantastic Bakehouse Theatre, which showcases a vast range of local, national and international professional talent.
And she can’t be having with anyone who thinks she’s too short to play Granny Weatherwax, especially when critics have commented that she magically grows into the tallest person on stage when she slips into her favourite alter ego.
