Convention Rules and Policies
To ensure the safety of all those attending the convention, we will maintain and enforce the following rules and policies at all times.
- Membership badges must be worn at all times. If you do not have a badge, you will not be admitted into the convention. If you lose your badge, please let registration know immediately so that it can be replaced. There is a replacement fee for lost badges.
- Props and replica weapons are welcome at the convention. Replica weapons may be displayed as long they are recognizable as obvious fakes. All weapons must be taken to Ops to be inspected and labelled before carrying at the convention. Be prepared to show any staff member your weapon to make sure that it conforms with the rules.
- No bladed weapons or functioning projectile weapons including water pistols, silly-string guns, and ping-pong pistols. Any weapon (replica or prop) used in an offensive manner will result in the expulsion of the involved attendee(s). We expect you to use good judgment!
- The University of Adelaide maintains a smoke free environment, which means there is no smoking on university grounds, inside or out. Convention attendees must leave the university campus in order to smoke.
- We will offer sympathy, but we are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property, or for injuries sustained during the course of the convention. First aid is available at Ops, as is a lost property box.
- Announced events and guests are subject to change and/or cancellation without notice. Every effort will be made to announce any changes via our website but sometimes last-minute changes will occur.
- We reserve the right to ask you to leave the convention and refuse to refund your membership money if you are behaving – in technical terms – like a jerk, or if you violate any rule or policy.
- Please do not abuse our convention facilities, we may want to come back here again.
- There is a wide array of people helping to make sure the convention runs smoothly and efficiently. Please respect our volunteers, convention staff and venue staff. If they ask you to do something reasonable, please do so. Use common sense and be nice. This is a family fun event and everyone is doing their best.
- All wizards’ staffs must have a knob on the end.
