The Virtual Discworld Fun Day!

The Virtual Discworld Fun Day

It's been a tough few years for everybody, and we never imagined that when we said goodbye to each other at Nullus Anxietas 7, in April 2019, that we wouldn't be meeting together in 2021... or 2022...

Due to the unfortunate cancellation of Nullus Anxietas 7a, we won't be getting together this year. At least... not in person!

So the Australian Discworld Convention is proud to announce the Virtual Discworld Fun Day, planned for Saturday, June 18th, 2022.

Virtual Discworld Fun Day - June 18 2022

What is Virtual Discworld Fun Day?

Following on from the successful virtual events of The Lost Con and Virtual Hogswatch, we figured one more virtual event would be the way to go! The Virtual Discworld Fun Day is very much in the vein of these events, with sessions run by the fan clubs of NSW, Victoria and SA.

The other big difference is that this event will be Free for everyone - you don't need to hold a Nullus Anxietas 7a supporting membership to attend, you just need to join the Zoom call on the day to participate.

Current events include:

  • Quiz
  • Book Discussions
    • Have a re-read of "Sourcery" and "The Carpet People" if you want to take part in the discussions!
  • Crafting activities
  • Maskerade (costume/prop/accessory competition)
  • Escape Room

With more plans to be revealed as we work on making them real!

The Virtual Maskerade

"There's a kind of magic in masks. Masks conceal one face, but they reveal another. The one that only comes out in darkness. I bet you could do just what you liked, behind a mask ... ?"

In convention parlance, the Maskerade is the costume and talent competition. So here's your chance to show us your costume, prop or costume accessory.

This can be something old, something new, something bought, something made... We really would like to see it!

Entry is free, and all you need to do is submit a photo or two with your entry form - and prizes will be awarded to the best in each category!

Read more about the Maskerade and enter here.

Virtual Escape Room

Solve some puzzles in our Discworld themed virtual Escape Room - you and up to three friends can play this fun game over the internet with one of our Game Masters guiding you through a surprising adventure. No experience necessary!

Sessions will be held throughout June, before and after the Virtual Discworld Fun Day. We'll try and find a time that's right for you.

To reserve a spot for your team, submit this entry form.
