Special Guests
Now, these are the guests we all want to have over for Hogswatch dinner! Find out more about who will be joining the festivities for Virtual Hogswatch.
Andrew Baker, The Amazing Maurice Animated Film
Currently in production with Cantilever Media and due for release next year is an animated film adaption of Terry Pratchett's The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents.
Andrew Baker is one of the producers of this animated adaptation (and a huge Discworld fan!) and will be joining us for our virtual Hogswatch party to chat about all things film-making, animation and talented cats! Andrew has long been a Terry Pratchett fan and leapt at the opportunity to bring the The Amazing Maurice to the big screen. The film is due to be released in 2022.
You can find out more about The Amazing Maurice on their website.
Professor Ian Stewart, The Science of Discworld
We will also be joined by Professor Ian Stewart FRS, co-author of The Science of Discworld books.
Ian is Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at the University of Warwick, England and a popular-science and science fiction author. He worked with Sir Terry Pratchett and Dr Jack Cohen on the four Science of Discworld books, in which chapters of Discworld action were interleaved with more serious discussions on science and philosophy.
Ian will be talking about how these books came to be and the partnership between Terry Pratchett, Jack Cohen, and himself.
"Working with Terry was like working with a wizard."

Colin Smythe
Colin Smythe was originally Terry Pratchett's publisher before becoming his agent in 1987. He will be giving us a short run down of what has been happening in the world of Discworld publishing and productions over the last 2 years. And possibly talking about the new animated film "Terry Pratchett’s The Abominable Snow Baby", which should be showing this Christmas.
Pratchat
Eleizabeth and Ben from Pratchat will be giving us a brief update on their exciting adventures with one of the delightful recipes from Nanny Ogg's Cookbook. There may be an award for bravery in this!
