Two (and a bit) weeks to go!

Two (and a bit) weeks to go!

From the desk of Miss Perspicacia Tick.

It seems like only yesterday, we were sending out the very first issue of Broomsticks and Cauldrons to keep you all informed of the goings-on of all the Witches planning for Nullus Anxietas X, the Australian Discworld Convention.

But, as Nanny Ogg has been known to say, "Tempers Fuggit". Which, if I may apply my somewhat more classical education to, means "Time Flies". Like an arrow, some may say.1

The convention fast approaches, and we look forward to seeing you all on April 10 at the Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport Hotel.

In this probably penultimate edition:

  • Online Sales Close March 28 - Don't Miss Out!
  • Yes, Emberella, you shall go to the... convention!
  • Maskerade entries are now open
  • Event Highlights
  • Quick Bits

This is your last chance to:

Do this before March 28 or miss out!

Sales for Merchandise, Gala Dinner and Walking Tour have already ended. However

  • Some merchandise will be available for sale at the convention in very limited quantities.
  • Desperate for a Gala Dinner ticket? Contact us and we can put you in touch with someone who is trying to sell theirs (if available).
  • Want to go on the guided walking tour? We can put you on a waiting list in case of a last minute cancellation.

Still need a membership to the convention but finances are tight right now? Read on...

Yes, Emberella, you shall go to the... convention!

Do you know someone (which could include yourself!) who can be in Sydney April 10-12 but has not yet bought or can't afford a full 3 day convention attendee ticket?

We are holding a lottery for attending tickets generously donated by a few Fairy Godmothers.

If you know a Discworldian who could be our Emberella please let us know! Please include your name and email address, the nominee's name and email address. Please note: this is a lottery so ticket is not guaranteed and does not include contributions to accommodation or travel expenses to attend the convention.

Maskerade entries are now open.

Maskerade entrants at Nullus Anxietas 9 (2024)

The Maskerade costume, talent and prop competition, a highlight of the Australian Discworld conventions, is for everyone, no matter their skill level of costuming or talent.

So, whether it's your first cosplay, or your fiftieth, whether it's your debut stage appearance or you're a veteran performer, we want to see you at the 2026 Nullus Anxietas X Maskerade to kick off the Witch Trials and show us what you've got!

Please note, Granny Weatherwax will not be competing this year and wishes only the best for all competitors. She will be making treacle again2.
