Only one week until we head up the mountains to Uberwald! We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday 12th July at the Grand Chancellor Hotel on Hindley St in Adelaide.

This will be the last newsletter prior to the convention - keep an eye on the website for the latest updates, and follow us on Facebook or join our Facebook group to see what's happening on social media.

What to do when you arrive

If you're arriving into Adelaide or the Grand Chancellor Hotel on Thursday 11th, have a relaxing evening! You may see some of the committee bringing in lots of Discworld-themed decorations, and an offer to help us carry things would be greatly appreciated! Once we're all moved in (as much as possible), we'll likely be hanging around in the hotel bar in the evening, so come over and say hi.

On Friday 12th, we'll be setting up all the convention spaces from 8am, and once again we'd appreciate help if you're willing to pitch in.

Registration officially opens at 11am in the corridor outside the function rooms on the Mezzanine - we're calling this area The Troll Bridge. Let our friendly registration staff know your name, and they'll give you your membership badge, convention bag full of goodies, convention book, and any pre-ordered merchandise. We recommend having a look through your convention bag and having a read of the convention book while you're waiting for activities to begin.

The first activities begin at 12pm on Friday, and run all afternoon and into the evening. The opening ceremony is at 7pm.

Registration will also be open on the morning of Saturday 13th if you have to miss out on Friday.

If the registration desk is closed when you arrive (on any day), head to Ops in The Embassy to get your badge and convention bag.

Please note that your membership badge must be worn at all times when in the convention areas.

Stay healthy!

We hope that everyone stays healthy this week to make sure they can have a fun and enjoyable convention. Drink some tea, take your vitamins and get plenty of sleep!

However, if you unfortunately fall ill, please consider staying away from the convention to avoid the spread of disease. COVID-19 is still around, so if you're exhibiting symptoms, please test yourself before making the final decision about attending. We'd also appreciate anyone exhibiting cold symptoms to wear a N95 or surgical mask to prevent passing on your illness to others. Masks and RATs will be available at Ops if you forget to bring your own.

Obviously we want everyone to have a great convention, and that means making sure you're being sensitive to the needs of the people around you. During the convention, make sure you drink plenty of water, take regular meal breaks, have a shower daily, and get enough sleep (See the 5-2-1 rule in the Newcomer's Guide) and we'll all have a good time.

Timetable of Events and Activities

After many months of planning, discussions, volunteering, and late nights fighting with Excel, our timetable of events and activities is now available!

We recommend having a look to see what's on when so you can start your planning - but keep in mind that there might be some last minute changes between now and next week. We will have printed copies of the timetable available at the registration desk or Ops, plus copies will be posted up around the venue itself.

As you can see, there's usually 3-5 things on at any one time, so you won't be able to do everything. Read more about events on our website.

Code of Conduct

When you purchased an Attending or Supporting membership, you agreed to the membership terms and conditions. Our website (and convention book) also contain an easier-to-read code of conduct for Nullus Anxietas 9, to make sure that we make our convention safe and enjoyable for everyone there - attendees, guests, hotel staff and us, your committee. Please make sure to read the code of conduct ahead of the convention, and plan accordingly. Plus, it's got funny quotes in it.

The Market Square

Right next to the Embassy is The Market Square - where you will find a range of colourful handmade ceramic pieces at the market stall run by Jenna of JeeBee Ceramics, an Adelaide local hobby potter and fellow Discworld enthusiast. Feel free to stop by at the stall from 9-5pm Saturday or 10-3pm Sunday to chat about pottery, plants, or cats, but don't ask us about huje green things with teeth. Wheel-thrown mugs, bowls, bottles and planters will be on show, as well as a selection of craft (fabric button and cabochon gemstone) jewellery and magnets. Prices are guaranteed to be "cutting [her] own throat".

Also in the Market Square is our Creator Table, where authors, artists, and crafters from our guests and community will be selling books, artwork, and decorative items. This is also where you'll be able to get any convention merchandise that we have left - including our special six sided dice (you'll get one in your convention bag, but you're welcome to buy more!).
