It's only two weeks until Nullus Anxietas 9 - The Australian Discworld Convention. Are you ready? We are.... Almost!

The festivities kick off on Friday, 12th July at 12pm - but you can hit up registration at the Troll Bridge to get your badge and convention bag (full of lots of goodies) from 11am.

There will be one more newsletter in the week prior to the convention - so if you've got any questions in the meantime, please ask in our Facebook group, or contact us on the website or at contact@ausdwcon.org

Online Sales Close July 1st

You've got only a few more days to buy memberships, upgrades or merchandise from our online shop - the store will close at midnight ACST on July 1st.

So if you've been holding off buying a ticket, or upgrading your supporting membership, NOW IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO DO SO - head on over to our website shop now to make your purchase.

Note that there may be some merchandise for sale at the convention, but only what's left after all website orders have been taken into account. We only have a few t-shirts, coffee mugs and enamel pins remaining, and once they're gone, they're gone. (Scarves have already sold out).

Charity Auction Highlights

Start saving those pennies! At our charity auction we will have many curiosities and oddities from near and far to delight every Discworld fan. From button badges to framed Discworld art. We have books, clothing, convention goodies from across the world, movie props and fan art. And all to raise valuable funds for our two charities: Bat Rescue SA and Writers SA.

Some of the amazing things you can bid on include:

  • A massive crochet Great A'Tuin (50x60cm) - handmade by friend of the committee Sam Merritt.
  • A framed print of Paul Kidby's "Discworld Massif" This 2014 edition features 77 beloved characters from the Discworld. The print is numbered 152 of 2000 and signed by the artist.
  • Two costumes that were used in the telemovie The Colour of Magic. One guard's costume consisting of a vest, a pair of shorts and a hat; and a handmaiden/druid robe.

If you are the sort of person who isn't afraid to be on stage, then you can enter the Maskerade Costume Swish And Twirl if you've got a lovely costume to show off, or the Talent Quest if you want to perform a skit, song, dance or other entertaining act.

We've got trophies for the winners in all three categories!

Zay Cheeze! Iconographers Wanted

Do you take pictures or make clickies? Is Otto Chriek your kindred spirit?

We're looking for volunteers to be part of our official Press Corpse. If you join, we'll ask you to take pictures and video of everything you can at the convention, with priority seating too. You don't need to have a fancy camera - but if you do, that's great!

Please fill in a volunteer form, and head along to the Press Corpse briefing at the convention

Events and Activities

Have you had a look at our very long list of events and activities yet? There's so much to see and do that you can't do it all (unless you're a History Monk with a procrastinator).

Our timetable should be added to that website page soon, so keep your eye out there to get a little bit of advanced notice as to what's going to be on when.
